ComEd’s Switch on Summer event was a big success! We had a blast educating people about renewable energy.
Solar Train the Trainer
Another exciting and successful 50 hour Solar Train the Trainer was held at IBEW 134 Union Hall in Chicago. Robert Hattier instructed 5 instructors on renewable energy training so they can go back to their facilities and teach students. 3 high school instructors (2 from Chicago and 1 from Springfield) were part of this group. Illinois IBEW is helping selected high schools throughout the state in setting up solar shop class for high school seniors to prepare them for renewable energy technical field.

Teacher Training
Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund is proud to be a partner of this all important renewable energy training for Illinois teachers throughout the State of Illinois.
“Teacher Training Workshops in Alsip, Illinois at the IBEW Training Center with Caryn Turrel from the NEED Project as the lead. The IBEW was so kind to allow us to use their wonderful training center. Daniela Herrera from Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation arranged for the fantastic solar oven demonstration and both the Level 1 and Level 2 teachers seemed to have the hands on training both fun and educational. Thanks to everyone who made this happen and a special thanks to Bob Hattier for the tours and the technical instruction. “
