Benito Juarez Community Academy Partnership
We are so excited to be a part of this work with students at Benito Juarez Community Academy. Juniors in the Solar Academy with IBEW REF are building demonstration models to show how three- and four-way switches allow for lights to be controlled from any one switch, using industry-standard wiring and switch boxes.Â

Partnering with Leo Catholic High School
Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund is excited to start a semester long class at Leo Catholic High School in January 6, 2020! We will be teaching the basics of renewable energy and electrical safety. This is our first renewable energy cohort with a private high school and will be a pathway to the electrical apprenticeship program.Â
Thank you to our partner at Illinois Solar Schools who will provide a grant for solar photovoltaic system for Leo Catholic High School. This solar array will be installed by IBEW 134 electricians. The students will assist the electricians with elements of the project.Â
